Skill Standards for IT Professionals

Skill Standards for IT Professionals (ITSS) is a systematic tool that measures the business capabilities and skills of IT Professionals. It is a reference model that is used to design and plan skill strategies and career paths.

ITSS was established in 2002 by Information-Technology Promotion Agency (IPA), Japan. This has been promoted to the Philippines in 2010 by IPA, through a mutual cooperation agreement with the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) as the promoting agency of ITSS in the Philippines.

Components of ITSS

defines 11 job categories, 35 specialty fields, and 7 levels ofIT Professionals.

Key Performance Indicator (KPI)

identifies the metrics for each job category and specialty field.

Skill Proficiency

indicates the proficiency levels that are set on each skill item.

a chart that shows all the skill and knowledge items used in ITSS.

specifies the required trainings to acquire skills for each specialty field.
